Title: width of steps
Post by: Ted_H on April 16, 2012, 09:58:31 pm
would 1960s RN warships have a standard width for steps and ladders, or possibly a minimun width.
I tried to use buidling regulations as a guide for a "guesstimate" but that didnt work as there are no minimum widths.

All the ships I served on in  the 60's including a tribal, cathedral and a couple of carriers had a myriad of different size stairs and ladders.
Unless you have a GA plan showing them I think you have to go with whatever looks right.
Upper deck layouts changed refit by refit as weapons and sensors were removed to make way for upgrades so unless you are modelling to a specific
moment in time who knows the exact layout/sizes.
