Hi hope someone will be able to give me some hints.
Spraying the hull of my boat and I am having trouble getting a smooth transition between above and below the waterline.
Put 4 coats of red oxide primer for the antifouling and a similar amount of gloss top coat above the waterline, the problem is a ridge is forming where the two paints join, how can I get rid of this and create a smooth finish
Painting is not my strong point,

If it's hardened off enough to touch then you could try   T-Cut clear  on a cloth.  Gentle rubbing along the join may smooth it down without removing the colour.

Top tip next time when you are doing a different colour

Paint second colour up to a MAX of 3 coats as soon as it is TOUCH dry remove ALL the masking tape NOW make sure your finger is CLEAN run it along the ridge of colour between both colour DO IT QUICKLY and the ridge will be far less than it would be it left unattended as your is.

TRUSt me it DOES work 25yr+ as  a painter

As Kenny has said use some 1500 wet dry with plenty of washing up liquid and run a rubbing block along it 2 or 3 times MAX and polish up with T Cut

I should have asked before ,but I wasent expecting such a ridge.
Your advise has been noted and used on the next occasion.
