Could someone please help me with the order in which components should be threaded onto the propshaft?
IE. Starting from the propeller and working back to the coupling insert
Currently it's set at Propeller > nut > washer > shaft tube > washer > nut > coupling insert.
Is this correct and do i assume correctly that you tighten the nuts against the propeller and coupling insert to lock them in place leaving the washers to allow a bit of movement?

As Dicky sayes all fine. Just make sure that prop assembly can move so no play or gap at prop end as this helps seal the shaft and use a suitable Grease to lube shaft and prevent water ingress. John.

Great, thanks for your replies.
I've noticed that one end of the shaft has slightly more thread than the other end. Which end should the prop/coupling insert go?

You dont really want any thread entering the bottom of the tube, ideally as it will allow water up the tube.

To avoid thread going into the bottom bearing I usually cut some of the thread off the prop end, so the shaft doesn't bottom in the prop.
What I do is screw the shaft into the prop as far as it will go, without a nut. Measure the amount of thread left visible. Remove the prop screw on the nut and then remove a bit less than the amount just measured. Clean up the end and screw the prop back on. Lock the nut against the prop, pop a washer back on and then put the lot back up the tube, washer, nut and insert at the motor end.
End play can be adjusted at the motor end.
