Title: Glynn Guest Empire Jubilee Plans
Post by: tgdavies on April 23, 2012, 10:41:24 am
These plans are described as 'stand off scale'. (http://www.model-dockyard.com/acatalog/model-boat-magazine-Merchant_Ships.html)

I'm happy to do a not too detailed model, but I do want an accurate hull shape, shaft area and rudder.

Does anyone know how these plans measure up in that area, and if there are any other CAM plans available?

Glynn's construction methods are intended to produce a realistic looking stand off scale model as seen on the water and usually incorporate considerable simplification of the underwater hull to make the model easier to build. So no, the hull is unlikely to be true to scale.
