The only one I've seen going is the yellow prototype that was put through it's paces last year at a couple of shows. Apart from Peter(Klunk), I know Kevin (Hollowhornbear) has one of these, not sure if it's going yet though.
Surprised we haven't seen more of these on here to be honest. After all here is a straightforward model that a savvy shopper can have in the water for under £150, including all the radio and running gear. That would be with brushless power too.

That's the one that was at Alfold...the only one I've ever seen work.
Kev's one is my old one, I think...he bought one from me ages back.
I've just "acquired" another one to build...but try as I might, I can't be doing with the huge gaps along the hull/deck joint. I'm thinking of bonding mine together, and then cutting it vertically about half way along and making a flange around the stern section so it pushes together with maybe just a couple of small screws to hold it together.

To work out those gaps properly, you would really need to glass it, then plenty of sanding to get the contour, filling etc. You could add a rubbing strake around the edge, bonded to one half and overlapping the other, which would hide any gaps.
But I'd be inclined to just put it together, fit something lively in it, and enjoy it as is, you won't see the gaps in the water anyway.

Rich your old hull as that is what i had from you is my second waiting in the wings, first i bought at alfold and has been running for a year, must paint it up plain white and resin at the mo.

Post some details up, will be helpful to anyone considering this boat. What motor and battery combination are you using and how does it compare with your Robbe Seawolf?

will sort out taking some pics etc in the week, and reveal how i closed the gap. motor speed 400 battery bog standard 7.2 nimh, prop? still playing with. compared to the seawolf quick and twitchy :} :} but our pond only about eighteen inches deep so bouncing off the bottom most of the time. oh and the fact seawolf is now static diving and abble to crawl around.

I'd be very interested in your gap closing method, Kev...very interested indeed.
Mine has a common or garden 380 motor, 7.2 volt pack, haven't got as far as the prop yet, but I do have a fair old selection to play with.

If your radio set has exponential throws try dialling in some negative expo, that will help control, or use dual rates, and fit a leveller if you haven't already.

Stick a Sutclffe style submarine on it, Nautilus maybe. then you can hide the join with a mid flange?

Be really neat if you installed a clockwork mechanism for the propulsion, and powered the radio off a small battery pack. Wonder if anyone has a Clcokwork R/C submarine?
