Does anybody have a way of fusing two 40Amp BL ESC's from a 3S, 5000Mah Li-Po batttery. The ESC's are 2 x Turnigy Plush 40Amp types and one of these caught fire last week in my Robbe Sea - Jet Evo and nearly destroyed the boat, not to mention the Li-Po battery! The fire self extinguished after a few seconds, but these ESC's are suppopsed to have over temp shutdown. On examing the boat, one of the props had seized causing the motor to experience a massive stall current which presumably set the speedo alight?. Not wanting to see this happen again, is there any way of fusing from the Li-Po battery to the speedo's or perhaps between the motors and the speedo's themselves.
Any idea's or help on this would be appreciated, Thanks

put a 40 Amp Automotive fuse holders in the leads between the battery +VE and the +ve input of the ESC.
There is one issue with this if the fuse blows on the ESC that powers the RX then you wont be able to limp home on one engine

Murphy's law implies that the one carrying the (admittedly small) extra current for the RX & servos will be the most likely to blow.
If needed, it should be possible to link the two battery leads together using diodes, and have the dioded feed supply a voltage regulator. That way, the RX load is spread between the two batteries, and there is control for the remaining motor.

I would fuse the positive lead of each ESC in or after the Y harness of the battery.
With a single ESC providing power to the RX you don't get redundancy. A redundant system would either have the RX powered separately or from both esc's through some sort of power combiner.
