Title: Multicopter
Post by: HawkEye on May 16, 2012, 11:35:09 pm

I've stuck this in chit chat because I can't as yet think of a marine application for these devices, but I'm sure there must be one somewhere.
The devices in question are multicopter control boards, some with open source software, they offer various capabilities such as -

Stabilization
Self Leveling
Hovering ?  :-))
Gps Position Hold
Heading Hold
Return Home ( handy after a few sherbets )
Waypoint Navigation

Here's a few examples.

There are many more to be found via a Google search, so if this sparks an idea with anyone then it was well worth typing it !.

I wonder if it could be used to control stabilisers.

Programmable submarine control?

Read somewhere that the CIA is starting to get worried about the range of control and FPV facility of some of our airbourne "Toys".  O0
