Hi All
I have got a new Laptop Windows 7 to replace my old broken XP version. Does any one know of any good Free photo resizing software so I can put photo on this forum

I use VSO Image Resizer, now Light Image Resizer

No need to mess around with third party hosting sites.

Or just upload it to photobucket, so you don't have to mess around with the hopeless SMF supplied uploader, or stupidly small file sizes.

OK up to a point but I frequently find that images hosted externally often take ages to display or refuse to load altogether.

Well, obviously! Although loading on the host server has an effect too as per Mayhem's 504s.
Anyway, John now has the advice to allow him to choose which he prefers.

And don't forget Irfanview with its set of plug-ins, all free. Resizes, crops, alters colour balance, changes format, twizzes images around and does a whole bucket full of other tricks.
Agree about the externally hosted pictures being slow - I don't have either a slow computer or a slow connection, but I fail to see why these items should fail to work with defaults.

I use this, too. It's very user friendly, and you can easily choose the size you want your photos to become so they stay within the accepted limit of the forum, 161Kb per photo.
It's also free, but you do have the option to buy which removes the reminder each time you start the program.

Hi
My Windows 7 has Windows Live Photo Gallery. Open it up go to the photo you want to resize, right click and select resize from the drop down and you gave the option to resize to Smaller, Small, Medium, Large or Custom.
I have a 1TGB drive on my PC & 2TGB on my external hard drive so I do not see the point of using up band width to upload photos to an external site.
