Title: Tamiya masking tape

I have just removed some tamiya masking tape from a some gloss paint and it has left a glue residue on the surface of the paint,has anybody else had this problem and how do you get rid of it without damageing the paintwork.

I tend to use a tiny drop of White Spirit on a clean rag.  Watch out that it doesn't dull the gloss.

WD40 or RP7 dewatering aersol will remove the glue residue and not mark or dull the paint work..................... :-)).....

Just GOOGLE the question and answer to confirm .....Derek

can I just point out that if you are going to do any more painting DONT go near the paint with WD40 it has silicone in it .

Tamiya is the masking tape for me - best I've ever used - I'm suprised it has left a residue though, could it be that the tape was left on for some time ?
I usually remove it after the paint has just begun to dry, this also avoids the risk of "pulling" the paint off with it.

This doesn't answer your original question of course - just wanted to point out the way I use the tape.  :-))
