Wings & Wheels! The largest Model airshow in the Country
Not Long Now! Saturday and Sunday 23rd & 24th June
Gates open to the Public at 9am both days, Model flying starts at 10am until 5pm and the show officially closes at 5.30pm on both days
Whatever the Weather...!
In true British fashion and with the show looming ever closer, it is only to be expected that concerned eyes inevitably turn to the skies and we start wondering what the weather will bring!
One of the most endearing aspects of Wings & Wheels is that there is so much concrete about! Being held on a WWII Airfield has definite advantages in terms of water drainage and hardstanding areas so no matter what the elements throw at us, Wings & Wheels will still go ahead! Much of the show displays are under cover anyway and of course the flying models have a full size paved runway to operate off so there won't be any models getting bogged down in mud!
Of course, having said all this, the long range forecast is actually pretty good so, being eternal optimists, we at W&W HQ are breaking out the Factor 50 already!
No matter what the weather, see you at the show!

Although a regular visitor to the yearly Hop Farm show I've never attended wings & wheels, could any members that have previously visited please voice an opinion as to wether it's worth a trip up the M25/M11. Is the marine section a reasonable size as to traders / display ect. ?
Thanks in advance

Its not a show for model boats. Ive been there and feel its way to expensive to get in. Having said that there are plenty of good deals for rc bits. Trans Recs batteries servos etc. If you like planes then maybe. Myself not again. John.

It is mainly aeroplanes but quite a bit for the model boater too....

Hi All,
It is the time for the show that has everything for everyone - Planes, Boats, Cars, Those noisy Darleks and more traders than can be seen at any show anywhere in the UK.
So is it worth going to - YES!!
We at Hunter Systems have been trading there for 25 years and it is always packed out including the boating side.
If you want to buy Radio and batteries and boat kits and car kits and aircraft kits and fittings and resin fittings and Electronics and flags and decals and........and......GO TO THE SHOW!
We will be there amongst the boat section along with fellow traders and the many, many model boats being exhibited by many boat builders. Then there is the aircraft, darleks, tanks.trucks, cars and much much more that will keep you busy all day.
Did I mention the displays that each section of the show puts on all day, both days plus the aircraft DG - the legend that is DB Radio. And the twenty odd fast food outlets if you get hungry and the beer tent if you get thirsty and the FREE entertainment in the beer tent Saturday night. Also the camping and easy parking.
Now who said is it worth going to?
Regards to all
Graham

Hi All
Now some one said "was it worth going too?"
I think the pictures speak for them selves. Yes it rained, yes it blew and yes we were standing behind our counter in an inch of water on the Sunday and still the show was good and packed out with people etc. and even Martin came from his snug home in Peterborough!!
Regards to all.

Although surface warships aren't really my scene, I have to raise my cap to the guys that build them...the amount of detail that they get on them is absolutely staggering, the finish on some of those tiny items is amazing...I'd never see to build to such a high standard.
Gentlemen....I salute you.
Rich
