what do people use to fit the cast iron keel into Atlantis

Having built an Atlantis I would strongly recommend that you complete all the exterior work on the hull ie. painting and fitting of the rudder before you insert the cast iron keel.

In other words make sure that you don't have to invert the hull once the keel is in position because the danger is that it will fall out causing damage whatever adhesive is used.

I put some bathroom mastic at the bottom of the receptacle for the keel, lowered the keel in, pressed it down to form a good bond with the mastic and then finished off the top of the keel with the bottom of the hull with mastic and smoothed it over. This isn't meant to be an adhesive just a way of preventing any water ingress onto the cast iron.
