Title: 18v electric motor
Post by: tobyker on July 23, 2012, 03:12:16 pm
I have a super cordless hedge trimmer which has just lost a fight with the iron railings hidden in the church privet hedge. All the smoke has fallen out of the motor and the brush holders have melted. The agents for the manufacturers can't supply spares any more. Does anyone know where I can get an 18v motor, ref PL-535-50030. the case is about 36mm dia and 55mm long and the shaft (which has an 8 tooth pinion pressed on to it) seems to be about 3mm.

Chuck in a motor like a Graupner with the same dimensions (speed 600), pick one that is the highest voltage in the series 12v or 14.4v or a 550 or 555 which are the same size, the shaft is 3.17 nominal on all these motors.

Thanks wullie - am giving it a go and hope I don't bend the shaft swapping gears!
