Title: Tyne Models - MCS Marlene

Hi All,
Thought members on the forum might be interested to hear that Tyne Models latest release is coming on very well.

I called in to see Les from Tyne Models on the weekend who was only to happy to show me the hull and deck for their upcoming new shoalbuster tug/workboat. The quality looks to be the same as the rest of their kits, and as someone who has been on the prototype tug the hull looked about as perfect as is possible. Les also informed me the fittings were coming on well, and assured me there was going to be a high level of detail, as with their previous kits. I was quite taken by a miniature vice which they are providing as per the prototype.

The model is going to be a bit smaller than their previous kits meaning a bit handier when gets in tight corners, and maybe also a bit friendlier to some of the older amongst us.

Thought you might like this little insight into whats sure to be a popular model.

Its just a shame the real MCS Marlene has just been sold to Wagenborg . . .

She's looking smart though with her red hull and black funnels.

It should be available for purchase sometime during July this year according to the manufacturers, so you'd better start saving!

Hi All,
Popped round to les's of tyne models couple of nights ago to get some advice about the flying phantom im building, and he had the hull and superstructure of their new shoalbuster there. I took a couple of pictures for anyone that is interested.
They are hoping for it to be availble by the end of july and will be taking orders shortly.

I had a very good look at the" MCS MARLENE"  kit on the Tyne Models stand at the Ellesmere Port show & found it to be as good as any other of Tyne Models kits...

A very high standard of mouldings & fittings as usual...

I would definately recommend it as a good model project...

Lookin forward to seeing the finished product :) Looks very similar to the Duke of Normandy which is based in Jersey?

The Duke's a slightly larger version of the shoalbuster design.

Its a shame Tyne models chose the 2509 shoalbuster design - not the best ever version and only a handful were built. The 2308 or 2609/2709 would have given more choice for colours.
