All respected Friends.. and Modellers.. i told you all it is too easy to make crafts from foam boards.. so one day one craft.. so, i turned to my work table again, and decided to make a super Catamaran race boat... this one is not a copy of any craft but purely from my imagination.. still i am thanking to the Veteran, of Catamarans and Hydros, Sir Joseph Ryan, from UK.. he gave me lots of useful advices before i start the work..
so i made this.. and i am thanking here to one of my Friend, and Modeller who send me the high power motor to me as damaged.. so, i took some reworks on it, while replacing the bearing.. so working well... nothing else is used here to finish this craft as flexible drive shaft or so.. she is 28 inches long and proportional, and yes designed in such a way to operate with my all other craft.. here i starts from some simple piece of foam boards..
-
working on booms..
-
now complete.. see how simple.. to work..
-
now building the bodyworks..
here i used a ball point pen body as prop outer shaft.. nothing extra ordinary is used.. and sealed with PU putty..
-
can see the prop outer shaft and rudder attachment tube..
from my experience i know that nothing can beat the custom hand made props on ship models... here i set the blades at shallow angles to cop with high RPM of motor..
-
now time to build super structure..the cockpit was made of same foam board, with acrylic sheet wind shield..
-
no any complications.. simple..
-
in place and water proofing..
-
now time to paint.. this time i finished her with industrial yellow, in NC base..
-
now reaching to finish.. all stickers were printed in an A4 paper and cut pasted..
-
simple stand.. again foam board..
-
finished and time for action..
-
more angles..look how stunning she is..
-
some more..
-
see in action..
-
and my growing race boat family... hoooy... :-))
-
see the action here.. all Friends.. sorry for the poor quality slow video.. its too hard to control her with one hand as the camera in second hand.. so will shoot a high speed video when i get someone here.. to RC her..

-
all respected ones.. some of my friends askd about the power train set ups.. here is the pictures.. as the low profile of the craft i used an universal joint made out of bicycle spoke..
-
and joined by bicycle spoke it self..
-
worked perfectly.. will add a simple video..
-
ESC was cooled down by some water cooling methods..
-
finished..
-
..... now doesn't that look the business! :-))

sure does look nice but I'm a little unsure about the name lol
-
Martin Sir, please do not disbelieve me.. i used nothing than a repaired motor, and a 9 gram servo.. still facing a big problem.. the coupling is not reliable.. so, looking for a joint coupling.. will update after a little modification..

Very nice boat build you did there.
-
Nice build :-))
You might get even better performance though, if you manage to get the propshaft more flat in the hull. Right now a lot of energy is going down only pushing the bows down and the rear up.

Ok I have to ask...
Is it supposed to be called Virginia, as in the US State?
It does however look excellent, no matter what the name.
