I scaled up a Surfrider powerboat blueprint by 100% then changed some things.
I was going to put 2 500 3 pole graupner motors in it but then decided on 1 because of the boats small size then realize 1 wouldn't have the power to make it plane.
I bought a 2.5cc nitro engine from a monster truck to put into it.

I had made quite a mess of it so i started to take it apart. & i was going to remove the bow because it isn't straight.

The whole in the side is 1 of the 2 exhaust outlets^

Had to make my own gearbox because the teeth were slightly different on the clutch bell

Dont know what you think of this since it was my 1st attempt at anything like this & had never seen how it has been done properly.
Advice & criticism will be appreciated O0

Your nitro motor is likely to overheat enclosed in the hull. Also what are the specs for the motor, I would suspect that gearing up the drive won't be required.

1:1 gear ratio
I dont know the model but its a thunder tiger engine & it says GT on 1 side of the block & it is a 2.5cc
Theres a small fan to blow air around the boat & the 2 air intakes on the side of the cabin do work.

You do need the engine to be watercooled, fan cooling will not work. You will also need an efficient silencer.
-
Get rid of the plastic gears, mount the engine directly in line with the propshaft and fit a decent universal coupling - the Huco is not up to it and as has been stated, you need a watercooled conversion for the engine.
Regards Ian.

Stick 900 motor in it far easier run 24v 55mm prop Simples

Cant get a UCJ on the bell.

Silencer... PHAHAHA!
why would i need a silencer though
-
The silencer is also the fuel pump of sorts. Some of the exhaust pressure is used to pressurise the fuel tank and push fuel into the carb
Another thing have you checked that there is anywhere locally that allows fuel powered boats?

Thought that would work even without a silencer & the Canal. plent of fuel powerd boats down there %)

Because if you don't put one on there, and you actually manage to get the engine started without one on it, you'll be giving the rest of us considerate IC boaters a very bad name indeed, which seeing as most lakes are now having to ban IC is a very bad idea indeed.
-
if you send me your adress via pm i can send you a silencer but you will need to water cool the head id you remove the bell and clush assembly then the cupling will atach directly to the threade crank end :-))

:o I wouldn't go on a canal, not even with third party insurance, far too dangerous

I think i have a high performance silencer that wasn't used on my nitro car (Got a small one on it)
