Title: MM articles - scale sail
Post by: tigertiger on May 09, 2007, 06:33:57 am
Hi Guys

I am looking for coppies of MM articles for some plans I have recently purchased.
And for any on-line articles, or build logs.

I ordered a few MAR xxxx plans together to save on postage.  I now need to decide which order to tackle them in.

They are all scale sail

MAR 2530 - Britannia MM Jan/Feb 1997
MAR 2521 - Altair MM Sept 1996
MM 2097 - ShauiArab Dhow Apr/May 1987
MAR 2971 - Valerie Anne sprit sail barge. There is no magazine article listed, but if anyone knows of any on-line articles or build logs for this I would be grateful.
MAR 2431 Louise Heloise. I have the MM article, but any other info appreciated.

Can anybody assist?

Looking forward to any reply

Polite ones only please,  ;D ;D ;D

HI tigertiger I have built the Loiuse Heloise you may have seen photos already ,its a great boat to sail but you have to think ahead a little when sailing.
It took two stone of lead to get it down to the waterline!
I use a fishing trolley to get the model in and out of the water.

I can give you the relevant article on the Dhow. It covers 4 pages. (one of them a livid green!). Suggestions?
Re. the Louise Heloise I know a chap who has all the info AND a 75% complete model (huge) that he is trying to sell on behalf of the builders widow. It is a VERY good model....but getting it to China? Mmmm.

As a post-script to the above...if you want these from me, would you like me to do the (smallish) accompanying photographs seperately or are you self-sufficient in that regard? Cheers. BY

A fishing trolley used to transport all the equipment over rough ground. They have large inflatable wheels which are ideal for lowering down the side of the stone jetty I sail from, the model then sails away from the stand which is strapped to the trolley .Recovery is just as easy, saves the back.

Hi Tiger Tiger,

I haven't seen the ones with inflatable wheels, But I have got one like this http://www.tackleworld.co.uk/acatalog/General-Trolley.html (http://www.tackleworld.co.uk/acatalog/General-Trolley.html).

The wheels on mine are quickly removable so it can be stored flat in the boot of the car.
