Andy,
Thanks for the 'How I Did It' info - I have already had a look at the various Swiss Cottage Sites turned up by Google.
I tried the 'Thatched Playwright' search but didn't turn up any images - did I not look far enough?
Your comments about the chimney stonework are interesting, do you have a background or interest in architecture - I must admit that I missed that one.
Having managed to answer questions similar to this one for other people, it gives one quite a 'buzz' when you manage to turn up the info, but this one had me foxed!...

I used 'normal' Google (not Chrome) with 'Safe Search' turned off, so no filtering, and conducted the searches using 'Images' not website links.
The first time I noticed any pictures of The Swiss Cottage was when I ran the 'Playwright' search, when it appeared about a third of the way down the on 'Page 8'. I still had a few ideas for searches to try, e.g. 'Retreat', 'Folly', Master Thatcher websites, etc...
I don't have a background in Architecture, but kept thinking about the dry-stone walls and buildings in the Matlock, Buxton area which as I recall are golden, not grey. This, along with the lattice-work, had me thinking of a possible Welsh or South-West location.
As for the 'buzz', yes I'm really pleased to have found it for you, but doesn't make you realise what an incredibly powerful invention the internet is?
