Hi , im a newcomer to this boatbuilding and was looking for some tips , i am about to start building a 1/96 fs type 23 grp hull and deck, does any one think that 1.5mm styrene will be to heavy on the superstructure?,what is the best filler to use when sealing the deck and hull join and what is the best method for shaping the prop shaft externals where they exit the hull (is car filler any good ie upol easy one) and could this be used for preping superstructure. any thoughts would be greatly welcomed.

Hi welcome aboard.
I use 1.5mm plasticard for the main deck and 1.0mm plasticard for the superstructure. You need to keep the top weight down on this size of model.
I use P38 car body filler for filling around the deck and Humbrol filler for small filling.
You could use Milliput epoxy putty for shaping the propshaft ends.
