Title: Another Old Boat to Identify
Post by: richald on December 03, 2012, 01:28:46 pm
Do you 'old boat' experts know what this might be ? - a friend found it
when clearing out his fathers house.

I don't think it has been in water since around 1957.
It used to have a water cooled diesel engine but now has a Taycol electric motor.

I don't have any info on its size but I would hazard a guess at 24" long
(guesstimated from the newspaper it's sat on)

Looks very similar to an Aerokits Sea Scout, but with the back end covered in, so not sure if thats a totally different model?

Thanks for the jnfo chaps, I have passed it back to my mate.
He is going to have a go at getting the boat free running first,
(on a small pond!) and if that works OK converting it to radio control

Just wondering what the stand was for?

Grumpy DaveDon't know - probably scratch built for the boat - waaay back.
but it does look as if it might have been made for something bigger?
maybe dual purpose for two or more boats perhaps.
