Title: 'Laila Belle' fishing vessel

 So ive finally managed to finish a boat. This is the Laila Belle, Named after my Daughter and my dog!!!! Ive yet to build anything from plans and am still getting to grips with the whole model boat thing but ive had a lot of fun building this and the fact this one got to the water means i must have come on a little since my first 'project' :-) . I guess you can probably see some similarities with the 'Andrea Gale' as i used this boat as a bit of a guide when building the superstructure. (plus i liked the colour scheme) I know its not all to perfect scale and i dare take any close up images as my level of workmanship might be found out but im proud of it and i hope you like the pics. Thinking of something different next, maybe a large model of the Hood with some working turrets and funnels. a bit adventurous but you gotta give it a go ok2

oh and sorry about the picture quality, i had to downsize the images

Hi Timmer,

Great job on your first boat, congratulations!

I must admit that the picture showing the rather awkward allignment of motors and propshafts caused some severe frowning on my part, I'm guessing you don't need a speaker system to emulate propulsion noises...

Seriously, the universal couplers are not designed to cope with such extreme angles for longer periods of time, the bearings of all components around it will suffer and wear out, possibly resulting in leaky stuffing tubes.

Also the long pieces of motorshaft to the couplers and the unsupported pieces of propshafts are prone to resonances and potential damage.

If you have access to the propulsion, I strongly suggest you fix the allignment and general set-up for better performance and a long troublefree boatlife.
