Just a quick question. How does a stern wheel paddle steamer (like a missisipi type) steer???

My Creole Queen has no less than 3 long rudders at the stern, well, It will have when it's finished.

Some model sternwheelers have been known to need rudders both ahead of and behind the paddlewheel, four in total. There are also a couple of designs which have two separate wheels with a gap between. These can be steered by using separate motors and drives to each half wheel. Hope this helps. Cheers, Ian.

Thanks for that. Just been looking at some photos and I wandered how they steered.

Thanks again
