Title: Empty lake at Wicksteed!
Post by: Thelegos on January 13, 2013, 05:35:59 pm
Took a ride over to the lake this morning and found Lake Manager Nigel still working his boots off shifting silt for the final session; that's dedication! (you can see him at the far end!)

The club members have put a tremendous amount of work into cleaning the lake so a big  :-))   to them all.

Get the plug back in and roll on Mayhem 2013.

Don't I know, I helped yesterday to clean out the lake for about four hours with my Dad, Paul Millers and Nigel, and managed to find a ridge as I was scraping out the silt which caused the scraper I was using to jab me very hard in my stomach!  >:-o  Still don't feel 100% but it'll be worth when we're finished in a few weeks time! The aim is to finish it for the end of January but its going to have a few swill outs to get rid of all the remaining mud/silt, we want a good clean for everyone to use for the mayhem weekend  :-)) .

Good work on cleaning the lake.  Didn't realise it wasn't that deep.

Yeh we found loads of.... Mud {-)
I was looking for bits and pieces including one of my missing props, never found it- love to know who goes in there and steals the bits!
The last big push is this weekend and fingers crossed the plug will go back in then. If the water going in from the land drain stays at its current rate the lake should full by the following weekend.  It'll be nice to go sailing again. :-))
