Title: 2 x 6v 4ah =12 x 8ah ???
Post by: portside II on May 17, 2007, 05:12:44 pm
ok the brain has gone again  decided to fit a pair of speed 700 turbo bb's in the nangee ,they are rated at 9.6v so will runthem off 12v .
As there is not much room in the depths i will fit 6v 4ah cells and pair them up as 12v ,this is where a brain would help .If i connect them in series to give me 12v will i get 4ah or 8ah ,ie double the voltage double the ampage . ??? ???

Hi PortsideII

If you connect them in series you will get 12v 4ah if you connect in parallel you would get 6v 8ah if you had 4 connected in 2 sets of series in parallel you would get 12v 8ah

In series you add up the volts in parallel you add up the amps

thankyou  that was the other thing i think there may be room for 4 battery's ,two each side of the shafts and two down the center that way i will keep most of the weight just aft of center . if it's a bit aft heavy i can move one of the center battery's forward between the motors  .
The reason for the mass of battery's is i think the motors might be a bit thirsty and why ballast down with lead when you can do it with lead acid  ;D.
