Hi Guys,
Just been reading various posts about smoke generators but can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for, but I'm sure it's out there somewhere.
Just assembling the funnel for my Clyde Puffer (Caldercraft Northlight). Being a Puffer I thought I should treat her to a smoke generator, any ideas on which one I should go for, I was thinking of a Graupner Super Smoke Generator 6V. Does anyone know if this would fit, or indeed how you fit it and is the plastic funnel supplied in the kit suitable to house it?
Sorry, pretty basic questions for you guys but "I know nothing"!! %)

I bought a 6v Graupner, but took it out when it glowed hot in the bottom of my hull. Sure it gives off smoke, but these days I would look at one of the water based systems that are readily available and not too badly priced...

The small smoke generators do fit nicely into a funnel but they do tend to
spit and pop a bit.If you use a 6v unit only run it on 6v, it will not last long
if run on 7.2v
I use the water based units as footski states if you have room for one in
your boat. They run proportional with your speed controller more speed
= more smoke/fog as they are really a fog unit.

Thanks John44 I'll see what space I have (haven't quite got that far yet with the installation) and if possible go for a water based one.

I would go for a steam master unit (expensive but very good).
This is what im fitting into my MMM Brackengarth tug, 1 tank of water can last up to 3 hrs.
