This boat just became a topic of discussion on rcgroups.com in their sailing section. The observation was made by one chap that this boat seems a bit heavy. I posted the only pictures I have found on the boat. The price is attractive, not sure of the quality of the boat. Robbe used to make some nice looking tri hull boats but they seem to have dried up!  (http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/Smileys/Tug/undecided1.gif)
They are being sold here in the U.S. by Tower Hobbies (http://www.towerhobbies.com/products/thundertiger/ttrb5556.html (http://www.towerhobbies.com/products/thundertiger/ttrb5556.html)
if anyone is interested. Tower is a good group to trade with in my experience.
Here are the spec's for this boat.
Length Overall: 39.4 in (1000 mm), Beam: 21.6 in (550 mm), Height: 59 in (1505 mm), Weight: 7.5 lb (3400 g), Sail Area: 514.6 sq in (33.2 dm2)

I am tempted. I fancy having a go at this wind powered business this year and this looks like it won't be too affected by the weeds that lurk below the surface of the pond where I do my boating.

Shes still got the keel and rudder sticking down a fair bit but no bulb to get stuck with so maybe ok?

First sail today went really good, didnt turn her over winds were to lite, had the waders on ready though  :embarrassed: in alittle bit of wind she does stomp along at a good pace but trying to tac in little to no wind is a hard task
Size wise its not massive, fits in my i20 fully rigged! Opinion would be great boat, for light to med winds anything else and your going to be gettinit back all the time. Kit was a nice one to build, all the parts were in the box and a few spare bits that they seem to have used from another kit, but have semi tryed to use them on this boat
Pics and vids will be added hopefully this evening, was hard tryin to use phone and sail so there not the best, plus you have to be on the controls alot with this yacht to get the best from it

Hi Dan
Thanks for the videos! Can't help notice that your lake has some pretty large birds on it. Some are real and I think I can see some really big ones which have to be some sort of man made creatures. The real birds look larger than you boat!  ;) {:-{

How do you find it sails?

I expected down wind hull to submarine before the main hull flies due to the lack of volume in the outer hulls and the narrow overall width.

Hi

I no longer have the yacht as I sold her due to lack of use and space but it went down wind very well, she never submarined even in heavy weather.
