Title: EasyFooty scratch build of a new racing yacht
Post by: andrewh on February 13, 2013, 04:36:20 pm
In 2012 I took part in the Footy Gold Cup which was held for the first time in Italy

We will draw a discreet veil over my finishing position.  In my defence I was racing a scale, gaff-rigged boat against the best in the world.
I had a ball anyway, and was most impressed by a very neat and simple Footy which eventually finished 4th overall.
This boat also inspired other modellers and a derivative of it has appeared as "easyfooty" with complete free plans.  There is an excellent build log on a the footy forum by the designer, Claudio, and also a parallel build log from the plans by a numpty.

the two builds taking place at about the same time will hopefully help both expert and beginner and illustrate points which are not obvious from the plans.

I will fill in more detail when time permits, and post pictures of the Gold Cup
