Title: Valentines
Post by: Norseman on February 13, 2013, 11:06:44 PM
It has just dawned on me that it is Valentines Day in an hour.
Oops I've forgotten to get a card - a capital offence.
My plan is to leave for work quite a bit earlier tomorrow morning.

Question ..... Do you go with the cards message or do you add your own?

Dave

It's all well and good buying something special for your loved one's, but how are you going to explain it if the missus find's out?

Hi all, I was in a card shop a day or so ago and I have never seen so many Valentine cards.  They were all combinations but I thought the one from Son to Mother smelt of old Greek tragedy.

Well I have bought the card and picked up a 50% off Chocolate Orange  O0
Swimbo is on a diet so a big box of chocs would not have been at all appreciated.

I considered 'Saying It With Flowers' as the advert said ..... But there was nothing fading and past it's best  {-) ..... Now you know that was a joke lads so no telling my wife.  :-X

Why this fascination with February 14th?
Surely if you love someone, then they should be told/be getting a gift through the year, not when the prices are hiked up by the money grabbing shops. Then they will be getting something that means something, not some flowers and chocolates to cover your butt, or earn you brownie points.
That is just sad

Have never sent a card or flowers on Valentines day - I will take her out and wine and dine her any day of the year
except the 14th February - everything is just a big rip-off today

I'm single, so I don't have all the bother of the chocolates/card/flowers thing !

I do however have a special lady to treat on this day - My mother was born on
the 14th of February 1923 - I'll save you a bit of maths, it has been her 90th
birthday
today -  just birthday cards and family today - we had a big birthday
lunch on Sunday!

Luckily here its not too popular.... its called  Ystävänpäivä, literally translates to "friendship day"

Still I cooked the wife a yummy Moose hotpot (Lancashire hotpot but with moose meat instead of lamb) my idea of cooking chuck everything in one pot and in the oven for a few  :}
