I have been working on a couple of Artesania Latina Hellens and I would like
to finish them as very well used boats. The question involves the plastic hull. I would like
to simulate planking and a hard life. Any ideas?

Off the top of my head.....
Lay masking tape strips around the hull where you would expect planks to be, leave a small gap between the tapes of about 1/16" to 2mm ( up to you which! ). Once laid on, apply a couple of coats of quick drying acrylic paint of your choice over the gaps in the tape. The thicker and nastier the paint the better. When you remove the tape you will be rewarded with a caulk line between pretend planking.
Then you can start the weathering process, and thats all I can think of so far :}

That is a great idea. I had been thinking of using a piece of stripwood
and lightly scribbing the plastic. My problem was how to attach the strips
and then move them.

you can get really thin plasticard these days...paper thick and tough, these could be cut to size and overlapped as in real planking.
the size of edge projecting would be up to you and the thickness of plasticard :-))
