Title: Graupner Jules Verne - What's it Like?
Post by: essex2visuvesi on February 16, 2013, 09:22:13 pm
Popped in my local model shop earlier for some supplies and they have a Graupner JV on special offer (less than €200)

Has anyone built one? if so what's it like?

Sorry about the wrong 'move' .... it's very early on a Sunday morning!

.... I even had that kit myself!    :embarrassed:

Did you build it?

It builds into a very classy looking motor yacht typical of the long island commuters of the 30's or thereabouts.
Not an easy build, need loads of patience, lots of wood panelling & window frames to stain and varnish, takes a bit of practice to get it right, but well worth it because when your at the lake, everyone wants to buy it.
The hand rails are particularly fragile on this build so you wouldn't want to take it to the lake too often.
