...Hi Guys...
A wee step away from tugs for a wee while...
I have bought a 1/24 scale wooden model of a Clyde Puffer...It will be built as the VITAL SPARK as she was in the television series starring Gregor Fisher as Para Handy...
The Puffer used was AULD REEKIE...I towed her around whilst in Irvine being prepared for filming...
Any pictures or plans would be helpfull...
Does anyone know where i can get a small boat & some scale crew members for her...
...Best Regards...Norry...

Hi Norry
Starting to look the part already! Have you looked at Martin's build of Mountfleet's Highlander? It's shown on the website's start page under "My Builds" in the menu on the left hand side. Lots of helpful info.

...Hi Guys...
Here is a picture of me on board my old boat ANNEL towing AULD REEKIE in disguise as the VITAL SPARK out to sea from Irvine Harbour as she sets sail to film the BBC series "The Tales Of Para Handy" starring Gregor Fisher...
This is how we would like our puffer to look...
Does anyone have any good pictures of this puffer to help us with the build...
...Best Regards...Norry...

The saga of Auld Reekie seems to be one of ups and downs. I took this picture in August 2009 at Crinan boatyard and was encouraged that restoration was apparently underway.

I was then encouraged by this:

However, I recently read (on the Internet somewhere) that the boatyard wanted to get rid of her (presumably because no money was forthcoming) and that she was up for sale.
There’s quite a good article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clyde_puffer
Apart from a holiday on the VIC32 in 1995, I’m no puffer expert. There are a number of forum members who can tell you a lot more than a mere Sassenach - if they can be roused from their slumbers!

...Hi Guys...
The puffer build is coming along nicely...
Can anyone guide me to where i can buy 1/24 scale parts for her...
I am too used to using 1/32 parts for my tugs...
Is there a 1/24 scale kit of a puffer ?...
