I'm there is (or at least was last time I was there) as I used to go to a bike event around August bank holiday, and everyone (about 80 bikes) would ride to a steam show at the Havenstreet railway station, and every year there was a stand there with boats and a little pool for them to show off their models. I can't remember the name of the club but if you can't find out before, then go along to the steam show and see if they're still there. while you're there, see if B.O.F. (Boring Old Farts, bike club) still do the tug of war against the traction engine!

Sorry, but the club who attend the event at Havenstreet was the Portsmouth Model Boat Club and we do not go there any more.
You might like to consider the Isle of Wight Model Engineering Society. They dug a lake in the middle of their railway track. See them at www.iwmes.org.uk (http://www.iwmes.org.uk)

We are underway with forming a new club on the island, just talking to land owners etc to get a solid agreement , and then we will release information! anyone whos interested please pm me ! all input is welcome and also all members will have input .. its more a collective than a club !
Resistance is irrelevant !

Hi Harvey, hi Coastal
hello

the city where I live: TONNAY-CHARENTE  in FRANCE is twinned with the Isle of Wight. It would be interesting for future travel, meet between modellers
I could organize a small meeting at the water's edge and an exhibition hall in the municipal

There's a club in Ryde who have a cracking lake just off the seafront, up the far end. I have a standing invitation to sail the Akula there whenever we go over.

That's quite spooky, we've been looking out there for a couple of years, but have now decided to wait until the kids have left school etc so got another 7 years for our youngest, we was looking in the rookley/ godshill  areas.
