Title: Tuned pipes
Post by: hydrobob on March 14, 2013, 05:19:06 pm
I know that this question must have been asked a million times before but time's running out before Leicester and I want to try the Sprintcat on Sunday. So.....rough starting length, manifold to back end of expansion bit for a rear exhaust Webra 61 please.

Last minute (again) Bob

Hi Bob, Mark is about right.  You have a sport/racing engine with the Webra RE, so it may need to be shorter eventually, but its easier to cut some more off, than weld it back on!

This link might help

Just hope there is some better weather coming before Leicester` %)

Cheers

Thanks for that. As for the weather it's been snowing off and on most of today and, as I live on a 1in6 hill if there's too much I'm going nowhere. I've alreadt had one toboggan ride in the car this winter and that badly eroded the boat budget!

%% The longer the pipe the power will come in at lower rpm in the rev range, the shorter the pipe the power will come in higher in the rev range, trial and error I am afraid, start with a long pipe and work back till you get what you want, unless you can find someone with the same
setup then it might not be right for your boat,I hope this of some help,Ray {-) {-)

Thanks Ray.....spot on. Had hoped to test at least one boat today but circumstances have conspired to keep me at home. Ho hum. Just means a bit more to do next Sunday
