Title: Pics of my recently finished 'Resolve'
Post by: chris_suffolk on March 24, 2013, 03:39:20 pm
Just a few pics of the Resolve tug I'm just finishing off.

Just need some warm weather now so I can see it in the water.

Hi John,

She's on twin pitman motors - (24V but running on 12v (hope the motors will be ok with the reduced voltage)) - geared at 6:1, (so nice and slow), with 2.5" props, and twin independant ESC's,  dual 12v 7ah batteries. Only had her in the pond once during building, so hoping she will handle ok now she's built. Sits well in the bath, but not a lot of space to try her motors with only 12 inches of spare length.

Would have liked steam, but bit pricey for me. May be sound and smoke generators next - maybe I'll pick something up at a show if I can get to one.

Really lovely, I hope to reach something even remotely close to this one day. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks weebaldy - has taken 15 years - bit of a gap with young children, but looking forward to sailing her now

Yesterday I read a comment on a thread, having been notified of it via e-mail. Today it's gone, but there are additional new comments.

I doubt it was deleted (though I guess it could have been) as it was just one line about sound and smoke generators, so where did it go. Is there a potential synchronisation issue with comments? Have others lost their comments?

Was that the post where the guy was posting his first after joining
He had put his full address and postcode in his location so I reported it to the
Middle to get it altered. I noticed the post disappeared a bit later

Yes.  It was removed because of the danger of Spy Bots and other miscreants. He had put his full address into his Profile.

Sorry for the inconvenience but we had to move fast.   :}

Cheers

It was on my thread about my Resolve tug

http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,42513.0.html

Would have been the comment after I replied to John saying what motors I have, and that I want to add sound and smoke. The reply said that sound and smoke would be good, and a few other things = is that the one that was removed? Don't recall seeing any names etc in it
