hi
been working on a nautical marine models s 100 its ment to 1/36 but am building as 1/35,
its got working torpedo doors and tubes on compressed air. also working torpedos prototype on deck,
made the armour shell from plastic card home made rudders, wooden deck.
so far

Hi vosper, the skull cap bridge house looks great. I hope those torpedoes have dummy warheads. :}
-
hi
thanks did think but have not but they sounds great when fired with the compressed air, trouble findind 15mm tube for scale torpedos and pipe for tubes were hard to find to get it to scale of 1/35.
only problem builing on a tight buget.
-
Hi Vosper.
if you need any pix of built vessels for details pm me e-mail address.
Frank :P

hi
been working on the working torpedos with counter rotating props, ready for fitting se pic.
scale is 1/35.
-
hi
bit more on 1/35 torpedos here electrics body stay still when runing as it should,
and complete torpedo ready to paint.
a bit slow but to scale maybe.

Looking really good :-))
Si:)
-
Nice! :-))
-
yes very nice indeed, could you post some close up pics of the topedo motor drive arrangement?
-
hi some close ups not very good very old camera.

hi
well painted, only thing is slower than hoped for but scale speed, rechargable battery gives about 5 min run,
i shall try and film them runing.
lipo battery from a mcro hali, motor from 9g servo, trouble is have get all stuff of internet so hard to judge the size of thing needed, gears are for micro racing cars, shafts are blood test needles,

Sweet, very nice indeed.
Si:)

And Lipo? - it hits something, water gets in and scale explosive in warhead - yes?, lol :D

A truly inspired bit of engineering to get contra rotating props from one motor
A quick question. How do you switch the motor on and off?
-
hi
switching i was trying reed switch but had trouble getting them, so tried a micro switch with pin so when in the tube pin is held in keeping motor off, then when torpedo leaves the tube its springs out out motor keeps running till pin is pushed back in.

hi again
torpedos are from this kit see pic, the nose is held in place with one screw to get at recharge socket you can see the o ring to make sure of water tight fit,
-
hi
just put a vid of launhing of the torpedo ,
see youtube link

Hi Vosper can you supply some details on your compressed air system please.
Grah
-
hi
the system i came up with due to lack of space is and after loads of trials is with 2 corkmaster,s with a high power servo to operate, you can et 3 launches on 1 sparklet bulb per tube, problem had to fit near stern for balance.
see picturse,

really interesting work, thanks for sharing it with us :-))

I do like this "whats in the bits box/kitchen drawer?" kind of modelling, shows real initiative
I looked into using an soda stream system as a starting point for a submarine dive system.... but the wife said no cos it still works :(
-
Thanks Vosper for air system info.
