Wodney's too shy and bashfull to show his new model drifter in it's build process,........not long to go now and she'll be finished,
and so I sneeked a few shots of the model this morning....it's a cracker!!!
-
That looks a cracker Neil, well done to 'Wodney' O0 Was it a kit or scratch built? does look a nice model. Rgards, Tony. :-))
-
Hi Tony...thanks for the comment, it,s scratch built at 1/32 scale off 2 black & white photo,s as i don,t have any plans for it...Rod
-
Lovely job Trawlerman :-))
Neil, you shouldn't have opened the bond before taking
the photos. The galley has a distinct list on the first photo :} :D
Ned
-
Hi Ned...Much appreciated comment, it,s been a hard slog but the end is in sight..Rod
-
Hi Trawlerman that is a very nice model you will have to get a few herring scales on the deck--all the best--Charlie
-
Thanks Charlie....will do ROD
-
To build such a lovely model from just two black and white photos without any plans deserves praise indeed, I'd take my hat off to you Rod, you've done a great job - something I'd be very proud of. :-))
Regards, Tony
-
Hi Tony...Thanks for the message. After spending years as a fitter in the dying & bleaching trade and mending obsolete machines then you have to adopt a mentality of being able to overcome any problem that arises. Having said that for my next trawler build i have a nice set of plans,..all the best...Rod :-))
-
well worked wodney!
She is looking good.Hope to see her at Blackpool IF it will fit in the boot!
Good on yer matey,as someone would say!
Mick F
-
Thanks Mick...At 35 inches it will fit in the car easily, unlike the trawlers. Rod. :-))
-
AMAZING TALENT !!!
Well Done Mate.
Tim ( in the New World )

Hi Tim..Thanks for the message, It,s been a long haul without plans but there,s light at the end of the tunnel, ...Rod :-))
-

-
Hi Eddie Thanks for the comment, It keeps the old grey cells alive having to plan one step ahead....Rod :-))
-
Ol' Rodders is very bashful you know............didn't want to be on the photos.......but caught him running, lol..............will post some shots of his finished drifter after my bath, lol
think he needs an 'aircut %% %% %% %% %%
-
anyway.......now nicely refreshed and smelling even fresher I'll post some pics of his boat because he's too modest too..
believe me when I say this looks better in the flesh than it does on pictures.......AND he built it purely from photos and the meagrest of a very poorly detailed old plan that someone sent him.
both he and the model are just magic.
neil.
-
and a few more
-
and the final two shots..........one of her starboard side, and the other of his faithful helper, Ally.
mind you I think the dog puts in more work than he does {-) {-) {-) {-) {-)
-
brilliant model Wodney! I love the detailing that you would not useually get on models like the fish scoops and deck brush, just great.Even Ally(the dog for those who dont know)looks pleased with it.Distinct lack of fagash though matey, was it a windy day? :} Seriously my friend,a really good model.
Mick F
-
Brilliant, love all the wee extra details, excellent

-

-
Yes i am in the dog house again!!!! I had some turps in a jam jar on the window sill and i knocked it over, it soon mopped up as it was a tiled surface. OH DEAR! {-) {-)
-

-
Hi Dave. Next on the list is the trawler THORINA, this time i have a nice set of plans....Rod :-))
-
Looked up the name Thorina thinking the name would be from Thor but found some crustaceans instead. Then read up that she was in For Your Eyes Only as a spyship http://www.gonemovies.com/WWW/Hoofd/A/PhotoLarge.php?Keuze=ForYourEyes13&TitelKop=For%20your%20eyes%20only&Keuze2=foryoureyesonly2&Age=2&Sort=Volgorde
Lets hope your model fares better than that photo O0
Dave
-
Lets hope so Dave. What a superb picture...Rod
-
well Dave........it faired very well..........sailed lovely, even in a stiff breeze with the sail acting as a Braine's steering vain, lol
he'll curse me for this but I said I'd get em on here before 'e even got his camera open, lol
-
AND I got a sail of it as well whilst he was taking his shots for posterity.............PLUS, I didn't sink it, {-) {-) {-) {-)
-
If you had sunk it ,Then you would have been doing your walrus impression again...Ha Ha Ha...Rod
-
Lovely model :-)) . Great job.
Mark

Mick F
-
Hi Dave..Thanks for the comment.....As for the " walrus" believe me I,ve seen it wading round in 4ft of water, not a pretty sight....regards Rod {-) {-)

Mick F

-
hope the masterblaster is waterproof when you put the wet nets on top of it,or when "Titanic" sinks!
-
Trawlers and drifters DO NOT SINK unless pugwash is at the helm. {-) {-)

Trawlers and drifters DO NOT SINK unless pugwash is at the helm. {-) {-)
Did you see that Geoff? >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( :police:
Ned
-
Hi Ned...I realise in the real world that there were a lot of tragic incidents involving drifters and trawlers but in this case I am under fire from two lifeboat builders who are trying to get at me...Rod
-
OK Rod.
It's just just that we have a member on here called Pugwash {-)
He's an Ex RN Yeoman of Signals,
An Ex Police Officer
A YachtMaster and Also did Yacht Deliveries.
I just thought it funny you should mention Pugwash. :-)) :-))
Ned
-
awww Wodney are you being got at then? as if we would! Any way, you may need one of Pugwash's Lifeboats when the trawler does make into the water. XX
-
Oops {:-{
Don't tell me NHP's last name is Pugwash %% %%
Ned
-
Hi Ned...No we call him pugwash after his favourite cartoon character....Rod
