Title: Researching rudder angle
Post by: david48 on April 14, 2013, 12:20:25 pm
I came across this when I was looking for the rudder angle for my build  ,just thought it might be of interest to the towing people out there.                                                                                                                                                                           http://www.rudderpower.com/html/rudder_theory.html (http://www.rudderpower.com/html/rudder_theory.html)

Looks like a copy of a Becker Rudder to me.

Looks like a copy of a Becker Rudder to me.

That was my thought either.
Why are they using the term Deflector Rudder instead of the proper term under that this - so to speak high lift device or flap rudder - is usually referenced, i.e. Becker Rudder (http://www.becker-marine-systems.com/03_products/products_flap.html).

I would assume that 'Becker' is a registered trademark, and that not all deflector rudders are made by Becker.
