The last of the Type 42s, we will miss them when they are gone <:(
Still think they are ugly though...not Type 45 ugly, just not pretty...

I can't get it to happen with your first link but, when you're writing a post/reply on here, if you click the 'Insert Image' button (which is to the left of the 'Insert Hyperlink' buttond that you used), and then add your link between the two blocks of bracketed code (which say 'img' instead of 'url') your images (below) should appear in your message. Just can press 'Preview' to check first.

She is coming to Liverpool for the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic. I have many happy memories of her during her build and all her sea trials. There is a lot happening on the bank holiday weekend 18th till the 20th of May. On Tuesday the 21st I think it is about 20 naval vessels of different nationalities, will line up on the Mersey and depart together, it will be a never to be forgotten sight. Liverpool MBC and some other people will be displaying in the Royal Liver Building.
Joe :-)) :-)) :-))

Just checked Vessel Finder and she is about half way between Whitby and Hartlepools
steering 346 and doing 11.8 knots - Doesnt seem to be in a hurry to get whereever she is
heading.

Maybe her captain is of a similar mind to NCC1701 B's and has just decided to do one more trip for the hell of it?

Well, if it was my final trip before the knacker's yard, I wouldn't be in a hurry either! <:(
I can remember the 42s being brought into service (I did a little work on the 996 and 1022 radars), so still think of them as a "new" class. Not quite as new as those lovely Type 22s of course. What!? They've gone too? But it only seems like yesterday...... {:-{ {:-{

What a sight to wake up to...although 05:30 is a little too early for me :-)
Funny how coincidences work...here is HMS Edinburgh making her last tour before being scrapped and here I am doing a diorama of the WWII HMS Edinburgh as a wreck.
