Title: The models of David Calderwood (senior)
Post by: Snowwolflair on May 16, 2013, 07:46:36 pm
Some of you knew my father who passed away last year.  He left a vast collection of models from his own hand made ship models, that will eventually go to a museum, to buses trams aircraft and made up ship kits.

 btw.

Having been to the late calderwood snr house only once to deliver an item for the thread poster I was impressed by the workmanship of the scratch built ship models on display in the cabinet as they were of merchant ships and clyde steamers.  Although they were what I would describe as full hulled waterline scale they were highly detailed and of a quality finish.  I would imagine these would be headed for a museum, I am though unaware if Davids father built any working models.

It might be nice to post a new thread just celebrating your Father's skill.
Maybe a few photos of his favourite models - boats or otherwise - just before they are split up.
