From the Model Sounds web page -
Quote
The Master Blaster is a compact all-in-one amplifier and speaker combo
- so there shouldn't be a need for an external speaker.  If it has a socket for an output, you will be wanting an amplifier to drive the external speaker, or a powered speaker.  Last time I looked, they had such items in Asda and Tesco.  Look for the ones that use an internal battery.

What enhancement of sound will a small speaker give?
If you are after a louder sound just stick the module in a vending
cup.
Plenty of sound.
Hundreds of real ships pass me on the Humbler
every week and at a hundred yards there is no sound
apart from the water noise.
1/12 scale means that at about 28 feet the model should be silent.
The module on its own can be heard a lot further
away than that.

put you next to a real ship.
Listen to the sound
divide by the noise level of the model
you hear something?

take the sound of your model
multiply by the scale of the model
you believe that the crew of a real boat bear it? This is exponential!

must be realistic, this is the aim

I have a small ACTion sound unit in a Victorian ship that had big reciprocating steam engines.
I have the volume set to mimimum, so it sounds nice on the workbench and at the lake edge.
It becomes inaudible beyond a ships-length away, which seems realistic to me.  More efficient modern engines become effectively silent at much less distance.

The most important thing with any sound system on a model is to ensure that the sound can get out of the model.  A common quote is "It sounds OK until I put the superstructure on".
Any speaker requires that its mount does not give a short path from the front to the back of the diaphragm - the Model Sounds one is in its own enclosure, so that problem doesn't arise unless an external speaker is fitted.  Any problems associated with planting it inside a sealed box should, due to its small size, be reasonably easy to cure.

thanks to everyone i am going to disguise the unit as a deck fitting a barrel or something like it

Mines mounted below decks and still sounds pretty good. It does get quieter once the cabins are in place but you just turn up the volume so it sounds right with the cabin's in place.
You do have to pop the covers off though to turn the unit on and off so not too efficient if you have rigging Etc to contend with each time.

 ok2
the problem is that, even if not to have a very loud sound, you still have a high fat speaker if we have a rattling noise

you got me with the high fat speaker??, i prefer low calorie ones these days  ;)
I  have been experimenting with my JCC twin turbo diesel on the laptop and have recorded several segments of sounds , made them into mp3's and put them on my sound speakers (KAIDAER) off e-bay via the micro sd cards,
they sound good outside of a hul but with a bog roll tube it should sound better.

google translate is my friend but sometimes a friend weird!
but my English is even more weird!

I mean even if the sound is low the speaker must be with a large diameter.
If the diameter of small speakerest sound is unpleasant
O0 {-) through model-making and Mayhem soon as I speak English well you

Your English is much better than this bloke's:

"I can indicate to the switch P44 the price that has the power card."

Surely Google Translate didn't produce that? Any guesses? The original was, I suspect, in Spanish.

Ref speakers, small mylar-coned units can be obtained from Component Shop but, as Gazou says, the sound quality will lack any bass frequencies and probably sound unpleasant.

As the yanks say in drag racing "There's no replacement for displacement"
