Some of you have noticed my absence for the last week and I thank you all for your concern.
Last Friday I was struck down with a mystery illness which transpired to be Sinusitis. I know, it does sound simple doesn't it. However, at 72 it was like a sledgehammer to the face. All the right hand side was poisoned and the pain was something to behold. The Doctor informed me that it would last for two weeks without drugs and a fortnight with them, so I opted for drugs. (well who wouldn't)
The unfortunate side effect was that my right eye (which has been hanging on by fewer tendons these days) decided to drop and produce a double vision which ruined my looking at the world ability. A lot of time was spent in this twilight world and the days rushed by. Seven days later and things are improving and life seems worth living.
I just had to get back out to where the action is and there is so much to catch up on.
I have the print enlarged on the screen so I'm getting away with it. Thank you once again for your concern and I am now going through over 100 emails. :-))
Cheers

It's good to see you back, Ken O0 I had a touch of sinusitis once and it's no fun - in fact, it's extremely painful as you have discovered.
I hope you stay well.
Peter.

Good to see you're back. Didn't you want to join my Shropshire Club?
Dave.

Dave, I should think your post was moved because it came under Ken's thread perhaps. Probably had you posted it as a new subject under chit chat,it may have stayed there?
Good luck with it anyway.
All the best,

Welcome back Ken O0
Sinusitis is horrible ... Had to have mine jet washed in the end but it worked a treat :-))
Dave
-
welcome back :-)
-
Thanks guys.
Do you know, this thing won't go away. No sympathy from Doctor. Research on the Web is fatal. %) It could last 3 to 4 weeks (more !!). The latest is that my right eye has now dropped the vision by 2 inches when looking at the TV screen, so that's put the kybosh on looking at anything. The pain is like lightening bolts. To type on the computer involves covering the eye and my skin feels solid from the nose to the ear. There is also the continuous tiredness and sleeping for half the day.
I suppose I shouldn't view this like an engineer but I'm looking for solutions like drinking a lot of water to maybe flush it out. If I had a drill and a syphon I would be considering a mining expedition. te he.
Nothing will keep me off here. You guys keep me going. :-))
Cheers

You aren't so far away from the answer there Ken - breaking them open and flushing them out. Years of on and off bouts of it but nothing since the treatment. :-)) had a general anaesthetic too. Get well soon.

Morning Folks,
This is day 15 and it's no better. I shall have to see the surgeon about my collapsed eye and the paralysed side of the face. I remain cheerful and can read if I tilt my specs at angle.
@ derek. yes my first encounter with stem. Bl**** hot stuff ain't it. I can see how it drives engines. %)
@Dave. I get the feeling that might be the route as I've not experienced anything like this before
@MikeB So glad you're OK over there in flood land. Canada is near to my heart as I used to live there, years ago.
@Martin. My good wife is the best nurse in the world. I cannot survive without her.
