Howdoo, been working on a seaport and was wondering if the above item in the link would work on 6 volts, it's only a"just in case it leaks", the one that comes in the boat when you buy it only works in fits and starts so the idea was to replace it with something like the above
thanks and regards Jack.

Yes, but the version you chose is rated 24 volts.
At 6 volts, water will dribble out the nozzle, not spray or shoot out as you imagine.

Even a 12v pump will not perform well on 6volts.
You are better off searching for a 6volt pump.
Model aircraft fuel pump may work sufficiently for your purpose and is self priming.

Halfords do 6v washer pumps for cars

The Seaport piston pump is to squirt water through the fire monitor and takes it feed from the
water ballast tank.
If you want a bilge pump 'just in case it leaks' you are talking about a pump which if not
running continuously needs a sensor to switch it on when needed or a switch controlled
From a channel on your transmitter.

umi-ryuzuki, thanks, my fault it was a 12 volt pump i was looking at then bookmarked the 24 volt. Don't want it to come out under pressure it's only routed through a hole in the side of the hull.

Netleyned, thanks, i've got a mini servo in there which works a micro switch to operate the pump, using a planet transmitter it's pull down on the right lever the original pump fitted does'nt seem to let water to flow back into the boat so i'll get the 6 volt pump from halfords and probably a non return valve.

Klunk, thanks it's the one supplier i never give a thought to and i'm due  a trip there to get some primer

thanks for the help regards Jack

Colin,
Thinking a little bit differently could you not have 1 inlet, 1 pump (non reversable) but 2 outlets which could be opened/closed by a pinch valve as used in submarine tanks.
The pump would have to start slightly after the valve opens but this is easy enough to wire up using a microswitch.
