Hello All.
I would like to introduce myself, my name is Wayne and I live in the USA, Florida to be exact. Lots of water around here to run boats.
I have been modeling for about 30 years building airplanes, everything from trainers to giant scale. Recently though, after having a heart attack I started building scale boats and really enjoy it.
While I was recovering and at home I built 2 semi scale lobster boat from scratch, at the same time, one for me and one for my daughter. She has really gotten into the boats as have I.
I found that scale boats can be somewhat addictive and then built a 40 inch scratch built shrimp boat with lights, working radar, net booms that lower into the water and raise to their stowed position. Sold that one and wish that I didn’t.
Right now I’m finishing up two giant scale aircraft, a 1/3 scale Sopwith Pup and a ¼ scale P-47 thunderbolt. The pup is mine and the P-47 is for a customer on mine.
I joined this great forum several days ago and have been reading a lot.
So now I want to move out of the aircraft and into boats. 30 years is long enough.
So I set about searching the internet for tugboat drawing and found the “Klimek” tug. It’s complete with all the line drawing of the formers and the super structure. I’ve decided this will be the one.
Reason being, it looks to be a fairly easy tug (single screw) and the drawing I have lend themselves to be blown up to roughly 30 to 40 inches. Not sure what scale it ends up being but we will cross that bridge when we get there.
First stop will be the copier.
So that’s it in a nutshell.
Thanks for the great forum. I’ll be visiting often. :-))
My best to all of you who enjoy modeling as much as I do.
Wayne

Thanks Guys for the welcome.
I've gotten all kinds of ideas from the forums in the last couple of days.
The one thing that kind of suprised me was the lack of documented build threads. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place.

Nothing gets people more interested than PHOTO's O0 , some of us live in awe of those blessed with skill and the inji-nua-ty - the ability to produce something that no one else would have thought of (me being able to spell is another thing {-) ).
Showcase you builds please, please - ;D is that enough grovelling guys?????

It's a deal, I'll document a build from start to finish on either a tug or a gulf coast shrimper. Stay tuned.

A great start to your new career Wayne, now that you have the boat building side of things sorted why not take on a real challenge and build a steam powered tug???? :-)) Whatever you do next I am sure you will enjoy it and that there will be plenty of support on Mayhem. Cheers, Ian.
