Title: True BLue servo/rx connections
Post by: jaymac on August 01, 2013, 10:09:03 am
Help please have just acquired a graupner true blue all electrics fitted (2 sail servos) except the Rx .   am puzzled by the  what goes where  though I have the manual . There are 4 leads of 2 different colour patterns . 2 are red/black/white  and 2 are red/brown/orange . These 2 have have a connector fitted to one which I take  is to join them?   this would be an expensive  guess, were I wrong. I can see the Y connector  and that has all  red black and whites  so methinks   those colors are for the Rx . So, are the red/brown/orange perhaps for the switch harness any guidance  appreciated thanks
Jay

Any chance you could pictures of the items please.

Some servos had different coloured wires but yours seem different again. Don't plug anything in if you're not sure.

Hi Jay, I had a similar problem with 1 of my set-ups
the ESC wires were orange, red & brown
1 servo wire was yellow, red & black
the other servo wires were white,red & black
they connected as Orange = signal /top
red + middle, & brown - bottom. The other servo wires were,
 white/top, red /middle & black bottom,
The other servo, Yellow /top, red/middle & black bottom

That is how mine are wired, hope this helps

john

I find the easiest way to remember is  as follows;
Light colour is white  ( signal )
Dark colour is black ( negative )
Red is red ( positive )

Unless you have old Sanwa gear, in which case Black is white, black is black and red is red and serves you right for still having old Sanwa gear!!

Are you saying there are two sail servos or one sail and one rudder servo.
sail servo plugs in the throttle channel
rudder plugs in rudder channel or aileron if it is a 2.4ghz
aircraft RX
battery plugs in to batt or spare channel.
black or brown will be the wire nearest the edge of a RX with upright pins
the bottom wire on a RX with end pins.

Thanks all  now I,m even more confused .Ha!   apoligies if the heading gave the wrong  problem its not the actual connection to  RX its sussing out where the damnleads might be from
Ned  yes it is two sail servos the concern is  I know the  connection from the Ylead .sail servos  I now have 3 leads I cannot see which one is from the rudder servo and I am not sure what the other 2 are for . I;m guessing  one is from the switch to the  Rx and t'other is from Batt to switch again I cannot see  to confirm which is which. I will be using a planet rx so need to know which is Negative on the

Red/brown/orange I know which goes where on the  RX  just dont 'blinking!' know where they are coming from

Ken doubt pics would help  as you will only see 3 wires   with  hidden beginnings

the true blue has a rather odd set up in that two servos are fitted in an attempt to pull the sheet lines back in , having tried repairing the set up for another person m its been noted that standard 3kg/cm servos linked together arent powerful enough to operate the model in anything but a very gentle breeze . imho you would be better off replacing both servos with one of the 13kg/cm hitec sail arm servos , which is more than capable of the job required . jon

Thanks Jon I've seen that before but as its all new would like to  see how it goes  as is. would be no problem if the lead sources were visible. Have you made this change on one if so may I come back should I go for that laterThanks

ive advised the owner that this is the way to go , ive made the change to my northwind as that also has a two stage sheeting / servo arrangement

Wonder why they  set them up that way
Anyroad I think I got it sorted I found another lead hidden below the tray  also  red/black/white as the is the sail servo took a gamble and guessed that was the rudder servo. So tested the   3 brown/orange ones and they are for the switch harness Yippee. I will confirm all if I dont cremate anything :}
Thanks to all for their input
