Day 3 started with a raid of my mothers loft, found some 9mm ply from my late fathers projects which I shall use for the keel and frame assembly, also found some wooden slats from a kitchen blind 25mm wide 2mm thick bends and twist nicely so shall give this a go for planking the hull..

Day 16 Well the hull planking is done, that was the worst job by far, and when I removed it from the jig the rear frame was out of line grrrr apart from that it seems to be all in shape.. will give it a full day to dry off now before removing all them pins..

Day 17 Ok all them pesky pins was removed today it held up great, have pre sanded it ready for filler, shape don't look too bad I am pleased with the result so far although I did forget to mention before planking there was some issues with frames 8.9.10 had to shave off a lot on one side of these frames as the they where not uniform with the other side.. hand drawn plan problem so I would recomend anyone building from this plan is to take one side of each frame templet and mirror that side for the other side to save this problem..

Made a battery mount for the titan piece of ply 2 screws and screw cups and a piece of rubber glazing seal from a green house to secure it, bat fits perfect in between frames with about 1mm clearance was lucky there.. will glue in to place at a later date as it can go in 1 or two places within the hull depending on ballast and how she sits in the water..

Day 33 Today I made the top rails used the same timber as i did for the bump rail 10mm half round. I used the template from the deck to place one row of screws for each side on my work area to the exact shape of the rail then as i steamed the wood soft placed more screws the other side to hold in place and in to shape and allowed to dry.. I have glued them in place on the side rails already will show the results tomorrow once dry.

Wow some weight was added to get the hull to sit right for waterline..Here is the calculations.. Boat with running gear and cabin in place 2.425 kilo.ballast required front 0.990 kilo. ballast rear 0.910 kilo. battery mid section 1.340 kilo. Total weight 5.665 kilo...that's some weight

Day 49 small job completed. In the fittings box I came across some electrical back box rubber cable gromets and these where the right size for the cable hawes squeezed to shape and the groove fitted either side my ply side perfect for secure fit.

Excellent work!  That really was scratch building, wasn't it?  Those pipe joints make excellent barrels.

That's a nice job you have done Nigel - and this is the first time I've seen a "block henge" jig being used - well done :-))

Love the build. Also I see you used your wife's steamer for the wood bending as I did too. I did it slightly differently, I had a piece of 38mm plumbers pipe (sink outlet) I cut it to length, made a bung for one end that the nozzle of the steamer poked through. Filled the tube with my oak planks and then a wet cloth in the other end. I left them for 10 minutes and they stayed pliable long enough to bend to shape over my frames.
