Post by: Bryan Young on August 26, 2013, 06:02:35 pm
After over 280 years of trading; Stevenson-Clarke has gone to the wall.
Not much more one can say really about one of the best known "short-sea" traders this country has ever known. BY.

There was an article in the Sunday Times this week about the excess number of ships coming off the stocks,
and it mentioned Stephensons Clarks Liquidation and it gave the impression it had happened far more recently
that last year - I think it said it was one of the oldest shipping firms in the business.  Seems a hell of a shame

Perhaps it was, but Bryan has brought it to our attention. I don't recall anyone else mentioning it at the time. It's extremely sad to see such a long established business having to wind up.
