Title: Fish and Ships
Post by: marinemole on August 27, 2013, 09:46:08 pm
On a recent holiday with my son and his family I discovered this fascinating model shop in the town of Ayamonte on the Spanish side of the River Guadiana. Managed to grab a couple of not too good snaps of a large model of a Yamato class battleship.

The business is primarily a shellfish supplier with attached restaurant but also includes a model shop and a superb selection of warship models by Juan Manuel Romero. Unfortunately I was dragged away by my grandchildren before I got engrossed and explored, so didn't get any photographs of the floor to ceiling display case full of warship models.

What a staggering amount of AA artillery those late battleships carried!
