Title: Clyde Puffer Build
Post by: django on September 10, 2013, 11:19:21 am
Hi I am soon to start my 3rd Puffer in 1/24 th scale . This time I would like to do something new to me by using a brushless motor & esc. I would like some advice from the forum as to what size of motor etc I would need to use . Obviously speed does not come into it & as I have a good supply of 12 v 7ah gel batteries running time should be ok as well whatever I use . I would like to get everything in one go ie motor , esc( & programmer card if available ) so some advice on where to buy for best price/service etc. Also would prop size be an issue   Thanks              Django

What prop size is the first question, that will determine the motor KV and size required. Can safely say that the lower the KV the better for a puffer though  ok2
Lets say its a 40-55 mm prop though, a 700 Kv motor on 12 volts would be OK, a tad fast but the throttle stick can be moderated.
