Title: OBECHE PLANKS
Post by: Geoff on September 11, 2013, 01:59:39 pm
I'm looking for a supplier of Obeche planks in the standard sizes 1/8" x 3" x 36" . I need it to plank a battleship hull so as long as its 1/8" thick the sidth is not too critical as I will have to cut it into 1/2" strips anyway. I'm going to need about 12 planks min!

Have done a couple of web searches but so far without too much success.

Does any one know of a good source?

Thanks

Geoff

Go to your local timber yard and ask for some off cuts.

SLEC do obechi strip on their online shop. I recently ordered a custom run of lime planks for a deck- these were excellent.

I've bought obeche from this gent myself before for my lifeboats, and his service is second to none.....extremely quick and the timber is superb.
