Today I received the sad news of the passing after a long illness of Ron Horrabin. Ron was well known in modelling circles for many years often contributing to Mayhem and was a great scratch builder particularly warships but was better known to many for his large scale model of the Foundation Franklin. This was one of Ron’s favourite pictures showing the Iron Duke soon after completion Ron is in the background pictured with fellow modeller Howie Baker.

. Last year of his magnificent model of HMS Iron Duke was gifted to Nicholas Jellicoe the great grandson of Admiral Lord Jellicoe .
My condolences to his friends and family.

very sad news indeed. I met him a couple of times in the 1980's when he exhibited his models at Fleetwood's show. He was a mighty fine builder
He was a man after my own heart......he built BIG and he left a wonderful mark and legacy on the modelling world.
My condolences to his family.
