Chris,
It means Personal Message, it's a message you can send to anyone on the forum that only they can see.

and usually the person sending the first pm to the seller of an article for sale, shows his/her intentions of buying and therefore "first dibs" at the item for sale...........

no need feeling stupid, chris......I have been on this site for a good number of years now and have only just worked out after some other brave member asked.. "what does R & D mean" after a couple of sections so don't worry.......even the most seasoned of us have problems at times.

as for Gazou's answer.......I never understand anything he says, lol %% %% %% %% %% {-) {-) {-) {-) {-) {-) {-)

PM Private Message
Why then, post PM sent when PMs are notified
by email and when a member logs in.
Are you telling others not to bother trying to buy
something when you are only putting in an offer?

I think that's what some hope for, Ned

mind you never been in that situation either as a seller or a buyer........far too slow off the mark as a buyer {-) {-) {-) {-) {-) {-) {-)

I think someone would put "pm sent" as a backup, in case their PM is overlooked, and the item is sold on to a different person, which would be a shame.

Not referring to Chris but it is surprising how many people do not realise what a PM is..So Good question.

hi NEIL
google translate is not my friend!

I mean:

I get an MP
even if I answer NO
I answer
this is the politeness  O0
several members of this forum can attest to that

A backup is a good idea if the recipients hasn't looked at his email, and if, like I often do, they manage to forget to look at the "my messages" notification.  Or quite possibly are unaware of the facility.

I agree with that Malcolm.
It is just that I have seen the PM sent
and a little later the item is still for sale
because of some difference between
buyer and seller.

The indication of MP is almost invisible

send a message "send MP" draws attention.
indicates the urgency

on a French forum lamp flashes
impossible not to see
